Project Summary
Atelier Ellis Architects collaborated with Crofton Interiors to design Verisk’s new Norwich headquarters, transforming an existing CAT A office into a contemporary workplace centred on collaboration, wellbeing and flexibility. Inspired by the Norfolk landscape and Verisk’s culture of innovation, the workplace combines thoughtful spatial planning with a strong sense of place, creating an environment that supports both today’s workforce and the future growth of the business.
The Brief
Following the relocation of its Norwich office, Verisk required a workplace that would encourage employees back into the office while supporting a diverse range of working styles.
Working alongside Crofton Interiors, the brief was to develop a workplace that balanced focused work, collaboration, wellbeing and social interaction, whilst creating an environment that reflected Verisk’s identity without relying solely on corporate branding. The project also required close coordination with building services and technical disciplines to deliver a fully integrated Design & Build solution.
Our Response
Working collaboratively with Crofton Interiors, Atelier Ellis Architects led the workplace design and interior architectural concept, translating Verisk’s operational requirements into a flexible and engaging working environment.
The design was developed around our Bauhaus Botanica concept—a workplace inspired by the geometric clarity of Bauhaus architecture and softened by the colours, textures and landscapes of the Norfolk Broads. This approach created a contemporary office rooted in its local context, combining clean architectural forms with natural materials, planting and carefully considered detailing.
A variety of work settings were introduced to support different ways of working, including collaborative hubs, quiet library spaces, meeting rooms, executive suites and informal breakout areas. Every space was planned to promote employee wellbeing while remaining adaptable as the business evolves.
