Welcome to our website.
Back in 2017, Atelier Ellis Architects were created to deal with two projects that required the care and attention that couldn't be afforded in a typical practice. The clients found the fees too high, or that they didn't feel that they had found the right person to work with them.
These two projects were very personal and emotive. They have a story and a journey behind them and would require being a part of the ‘long game’. These weren't projects that would get built overnight. They are not your standard run-of-the-mill projects, they had complex planning issues or stakeholder approvals required.
Having spent the time to get to know our clients, and to work with them in delivering their requirements, the sense of fulfillment and achievement in our projects mean so much more to us. That's why we only work on a little and not a lot. We want to give our projects the time and quality that they deserve. Our ethos is about optimizing innovation and craft, to create beautiful spaces that are meaningful and affordable.
Since our first two projects we have worked on commissions that vary in size from; one-off houses, workplace design, community place-making schemes, to residential refurbishment. No matter what the scale we look to use our experience in using modern methods of construction to solve complex problems around design, cost, and program.
We pride ourselves on working closely with our clients to develop and deliver their briefs. We are here for the long game and to work in partnership with our clients. We know that every penny matters, and that's why we treat every pound as our own.
Our commitment to sustainability includes our support of Architects Declare - UK Architects Declare Climate and Biodiversity Emergency. We will work with our clients to suggest ways to integrate or improve sustainable solutions drawing on our BREEAM, LEAD, and WELL knowledge.
